Private, uncensored AI image editor
nokeep includes a private, uncensored AI image editor: upload a picture or pick one you generated, describe what should change and what should stay, and the result is saved in your browser, not on our servers. Edit only pictures you own or have permission to use, and never turn a real person into sexual or misleading imagery. Edits share the two-image daily free allowance; after that, each costs ten cents in credits, and a failed edit is not billed.

What can you edit?
Editing is where mainstream tools are most restrictive. A generator only has to police a prompt; an editor is handed a real photograph, and the companies behind the big editors often refuse to touch anything that contains a person, regardless of what you asked for. Ask a mainstream editor to change the colour of a coat on a photo of yourself and there is a fair chance it declines because the photo contains a person.
On nokeep the picture and your instruction go to the editing engine as you gave them, without a keyword filter second-guessing ordinary requests. You can change a background, relight a scene, restyle a character for a story, alter the mood of a picture, or fix something the generator got wrong.
The harder question in editing is not what the tool allows but whose picture it is. A generated character is yours to edit however you like. A photograph of another person is not, and nothing about a private editor changes that.
What still gets refused, and why?
The law and nokeep’s terms are the first limit, and no setting lifts them. You may not turn a real, identifiable person into sexual or misleading imagery, including by editing their photo, or use anyone’s likeness without consent to deceive, harass or demean them. Anything sexual involving minors is forbidden with no exception. Editing a real person into intimate imagery without consent is also a criminal offence in a growing number of places.
The engine is the second limit. Editing engines are good at changes you can describe in a sentence and poor at changes that need the whole picture rebuilt. A request the engine cannot carry out tends to come back as a picture that ignored the instruction, or as an error, and a render that fails outright is not billed.
Rights in the source image are the third. Use pictures you own or have permission to use. That includes stock imagery with a licence that allows derivative work, your own photographs, and anything you generated. It does not include a photo you found.
How does editing work on nokeep?
Attach the image in the composer, or open one from your gallery, and write the instruction as two halves: what changes, and what stays. “Change the background to a rain-soaked street at night; keep the pose, the coat and the face exactly as they are” gives the engine a testable brief. “Make it better” gives it nothing. Name the things you care about preserving, because unnamed details are the ones that drift.
One change per edit works best. If you want a new background, different lighting and a costume change, run three edits and check each result before the next. Chaining edits from a generated image is the normal workflow: generate the first version, save it, edit it, and keep the version you like. Every result lands in the gallery in your browser alongside the original, so nothing is overwritten.
The editor accepts the same shapes the generator produces. Output resolution is the editor’s, about 1K, not the original’s, so a large photograph comes back smaller than it went in. Download results you want to keep as you go.
What does an edit cost?
One edit is 100 credits, which is ten cents; a new image is 50; 1,000 credits are one dollar. Credits start at $5, which is 100 new images, half as many edits, or a mix, and they never expire. If the render fails, the hold on your credits is released rather than charged. You are billed for edits that came back, whether or not you liked them, which is why the two-halves brief matters.
Edits count against the same daily free allowance as new images: free covers 25 chat messages, two images a day (generated or edited) and one short clip. Past that, credits start at $5 with no subscription required.
Plans start at fifteen dollars a month and include unlimited chat plus a credit balance that pays for images, edits and video together; Plus carries about 400 images or 200 edits a month. There is no unlimited editing plan, for the same reason there is no unlimited image plan: every edit costs compute, and an unlimited price either hides a cap or makes light users pay for heavy ones. nokeep shows one price before each edit instead.
How private is editing a photo?
Privacy matters more for an editor than for a generator, because you are uploading something real. On nokeep the uploaded picture travels with the request to hosted inference providers, is processed in memory under zero-data-retention commitments, and is not kept by nokeep or used to train anything. Your IP address and browser-identifying headers are not forwarded with it. The original and the edited result are saved in your browser, not on a server.
Read the edges honestly. The provider does process the image to edit it, under contract rather than under encryption you hold. Operational and billing records exist, separately from content. And because the gallery is on your device, anyone who can open your unlocked browser can see it; on a shared computer, use End now when you finish. Downloads are copies that nokeep cannot erase for you.
If a photograph must never leave your machine at all, no hosted editor meets that bar. The option that does is an editing model running on your own hardware, which costs setup time and a capable graphics card and leaves you responsible for the results.
What are the honest limits?
Identity drift is the main one. Ask for a small change and the engine will usually keep the face; ask for a large one and it may return a person who resembles the original rather than being them. Product shots, logos and text are the same: expect small changes to survive and large ones to alter things you did not mention. Review each edit against the original before building on it.
Resolution is about 1K on output, whatever went in, and there is no separate upscaler in this build. Fine detail in a large photograph will not survive a round trip. There is no cloud sync, so the gallery is per browser, and clearing site data clears it.
The editor is one tool in a general composer, not a full retouching suite. There are no layers, masks or brushes; you direct the change in words and judge the result. For a precise local fix, a conventional editor is still the right tool, and the two combine well: rough the change in here, finish it there.

What gets blocked in edits?
Edits follow the same rules as new images. Sexualised or non-consensual edits of real people, anything involving minors, and anything illegal are always blocked. The engine and hosting provider have their own limits, so some edits do not render.
Can I edit photos of real people?
Only your own or ones you have permission to use, and never into sexual or misleading imagery of a real person. That is illegal in a growing number of places and forbidden by nokeep’s terms whatever your plan. Generated characters are yours to edit freely.
Are edits free?
Yes. Edits and new images share the two-image daily free allowance. After that, an edit costs ten cents in credits (a new image is five), and a failed edit is not billed.
Will an edit keep the face and details the same?
Small changes usually preserve them; large changes may not. Say what should stay unchanged in the instruction, and check each result before the next edit.
Is my uploaded photo stored?
Not by nokeep. It is processed in memory and passed to hosted providers under zero-data-retention commitments, without your IP address. The original and the result are saved in your browser.
