How it works
- 01Add a selfie
- 02Say the look, or keep the default
- 03A clean profile photo
Add a selfie and nokeep returns a clean head-and-shoulders profile photo with a plain backdrop, soft studio light and smart-casual clothes, in a few seconds. The face is kept, but it can drift a little, so make a few and keep the one that looks most like you. Each counts as one of the 2 free pictures a day, with no account.
How do I make a headshot from a selfie?
Step 1: Add a selfie or any photo where your face is clear, looking roughly at the camera, in decent light. Sunglasses, heavy filters and faces far from the camera make it harder.
Step 2: Leave the field empty for the default (grey backdrop, soft light, smart-casual), or say what you want: “dark blue backdrop”, “white shirt, no jacket”, “outdoors, blurred green background”.
Step 3: Open it in nokeep and send. Make two or three, compare them with your selfie, and keep the best.
Will it look like me?
Mostly. The instruction asks to keep the same face, features, skin tone and hair colour, and the result usually reads as you. It is still a new picture, not a retouch of the old one, so small things can drift: the shape of the eyes, the line of the jaw, a freckle that moves or goes. That is why making a few and choosing matters.
If someone who knows you would not recognise it, try again from a different selfie. A straight-on photo in daylight gives the editor the most to keep.
Where can I use it?
Anywhere a clean profile picture helps: a work profile, a CV, a team page, a conference badge, a dating or community profile. Where a photo must be a true likeness for identity, such as a passport, ID card or official form, use a real photo instead.
Make headshots only of yourself, or of someone who asked you to.
What it costs, and what happens to the photo
A headshot is an edit: it shares the 2 free pictures a day, then costs 100 credits, about 10 cents. Most paid headshot services charge a flat fee for a pack; here you pay per picture and stop when one is right.
Your selfie and the results are saved in your browser, not on nokeep’s servers. Processing runs under zero-data-retention terms; nokeep keeps no copy and does not train on your face.

Asked before you asked
Is the AI headshot free?
Yes, for 2 pictures a day with no account. After that each headshot is 100 credits.
Will my face change?
It is kept, but it can drift a little. Make a few, compare with your selfie and keep the closest.
Can I choose the backdrop and clothes?
Yes. Type them in the field: “navy backdrop, black turtleneck”, “outdoors, soft daylight”.
Can I use it for a passport or ID?
No. Official photos must be real, unedited photos of you.
Does nokeep keep my selfie?
No. It is saved in your browser and processed under zero-data-retention terms.
