Characters
An AI character creator that starts from one line
In nokeep you describe a character in a sentence, and a co-writer writes who they are, draws a portrait in the style you pick and finds them a voice of their own. Open Characters and press Make your own. The character gets their own page, where you can change anything, start a story or call them. It is saved in your browser on this device, not published to a community library.

Describe them in one line
In the sidebar, open Characters and press Make your own. Write who is on your mind in a line, such as “a patient museum conservator who notices everything and protects a disputed map”, and press Make them. You can make characters without an account and talk to them with 25 free chat messages a day.
Their page opens and fills in while you watch: the co-writer writes who they are and how they speak, draws a portrait and picks a voice that fits. When they feel right, press Start the story.
Change anything on their page
Everything about a character you made is edited on their page, and each change is saved as you go. Press Edit on Who they are or How they look to rewrite it yourself, or use the pencil next to their name to change the name and their one line.
To change something in plain words, type it in the box under Change anything about them, like “funnier”, “red hair” or “a deeper voice”, and press Change. Describing behavior in a scene works better than a pile of adjectives: “uses quiet, precise sentences and dry humor, and never reveals what she knows without a reason” gives the model more to play than “mysterious, smart”.
Pick a portrait style and a voice
Press Picture to choose a style, such as anime, realistic, painted or 3D, and draw more options. Each new image uses one of your free images for the day or credits. You can also upload a JPG, PNG or WebP of your own. Bring to life turns the portrait into a short moving one and shows its price in credits first.
Press Voice to hear the voices that fit and pick one. The character speaks in that voice when you have a reply read aloud and on voice calls. Keep the important details in Who they are as well; a portrait does not replace the written description.
Start a story, or call them
Press Chat on their page to start a story. Choose where it starts, then who you play. Your latest story waits under Your stories with Continue. The written character and relevant context are sent with each message so the model has the role to play; that is a strong starting point, not a promise that every later reply remembers every detail.
Press Call to talk with them out loud. Calls are in beta: you talk hands-free, they answer in their own voice, and a call remembers your latest story with them. Calls use credits by the minute, and free use covers about 10 minutes a day.
Characters and their stories are kept in this browser and are not published or synced to a second device. Use backup and restore to move them, and keep a copy of anything that matters before clearing browser data.

Asked before you asked
How do I create an AI character in nokeep?
Open Characters, press Make your own, describe them in a line and press Make them. The co-writer writes who they are, draws a portrait and finds a voice. Then change anything on their page and press Start the story.
Can I choose how they look and sound?
Yes. Pick a portrait style such as anime, realistic, painted or 3D, draw more options or upload your own picture, and choose their voice from the voices that fit. New images use your free images or credits.
Can I talk to my character out loud?
Yes. Read aloud uses the character’s own voice, and voice calls, in beta, let you talk hands-free. Calls use credits by the minute; free use covers about 10 minutes a day.
Can I publish or import a character?
Characters you make are kept on your device for your own use. There is no public community library or automatic importer. Bring text you own or have permission to use, and keep your own backup.
