What an AI essay writer is good for

Most essays get stuck in the same places: choosing an angle, ordering the points, writing the first paragraph, and cutting a draft down to the word limit. An AI chat is useful at each of those steps. It can suggest thesis statements to choose between, turn rough notes into an outline, explain a counterargument you have not considered, and point out where a paragraph wanders.

It is weaker at the things only you can supply: your reading of the sources, your course’s expectations, and your own view. Facts, quotes and references in a reply can be wrong, so check every one against the original before it goes into your essay.

Step 2: Build the plan before the prose. Ask for three possible thesis statements, pick one, then ask for an outline with a point and supporting evidence for each paragraph. Edit the outline yourself until it says what you actually want to argue.

Step 3: Draft and revise one section at a time. Write a paragraph, paste it in, and ask for specific feedback: clarity, structure, transitions, or length. Short, focused requests give better results than asking for the whole essay at once. When a reply writes a longer document, it opens in a side panel and can be downloaded as a .docx file.

Tips for better results

Give constraints up front: word count, audience, tone, and citation style. Ask for feedback before asking for rewrites, so the essay stays in your voice. If an answer is too general, say what is wrong with it and ask again; a follow-up in the same chat keeps the earlier context.

For harder questions, turn on Think it through in the Chat settings. It is slower and suited to tricky arguments. If you use the same style rules every time, put them in Settings, Instructions, and they are sent with every message.

Academic integrity

Schools and universities have different rules on AI help. Some allow brainstorming and feedback, some require you to say how you used it, and some forbid it for graded work. Check your institution’s and your instructor’s policy before you start, and follow it.

There is no account to create. Your chats and drafts are saved in this browser, so a draft essay is not filed under your name on a nokeep server. nokeep does not use your chats to train models.
