Write a small character brief
To start in one step, pick a character or a scene at the top of this page. To write your own, open Characters in the app and press Make your own. Include a name, motivation, speaking style, relationship to the other characters, and one immediate problem in the persona. Tell the model which character it should play and whether it should leave your character’s actions to you. A short, coherent brief is easier to revise than a long list of conflicting traits.
For example: “Play a cautious lighthouse keeper in an invented coastal town. A stranger arrives during a storm. Use concise dialogue and leave my character’s choices to me.” This establishes a scene without depending on an existing franchise or real person.
Keep control of continuity
Long conversations can lose details. Keep a short scene summary and correct contradictions when they appear. Projects and local instructions can organize recurring material, but they do not guarantee perfect character consistency.
You can add an optional portrait to a saved character, or use image generation and editing for a separate scene. A portrait does not guarantee the same appearance in every later render.
Understand access and storage
The free tier includes 25 chat messages a day, with more use available through the current pricing options. nokeep does not require a free account or an external API key. It also does not guarantee that a model will accept every roleplay request.
Saved chats live in the current browser. Export work you want to preserve before clearing local data. Hosted processing still applies. The service is for adults, and the terms describe permitted use and your responsibilities.

Can I browse ready-made characters?
Yes. nokeep has a set of ready-made characters, each with an opening scene, and you can start with one in a tap. You can also create your own, with reusable personas, greetings, and optional portraits. There is no public community library: the characters you make stay in your own collection.
Can I move a character from another service?
You can bring a written brief you own or have permission to use. There is no automatic account, history, or character-card migration promised here.
Does it always stay in character?
No. Model behavior and available context vary. Use concise instructions and review the output.
