A private AI story generator for short stories and longer tales
nokeep is an AI chat that writes and develops stories with you: a bedtime story in a minute, a short story from a single idea, or a longer tale told chapter by chapter. There is no account, you get 25 free messages a day, and your stories are saved in your browser.

What an AI story generator can do
Give it a premise, a few characters or just a mood, and it writes a draft you can keep, change or throw away. It is good at quick variations: the same story told funnier, shorter, from another character’s view, or with a different ending. It can also help when you are the writer, by suggesting plot turns, naming places, or pointing out where the middle sags.
Long stories need a little management. The model works from the conversation in front of it, so a story that runs for many chapters benefits from a short summary of who is who and what has happened.
Make a story with nokeep in three steps
Step 1: Open the chat and set the frame. Say who the story is for, the genre, the length, and the point of view. “A five-minute bedtime story for a six-year-old” and “a 1,500-word mystery for readers who like slow reveals” lead to very different drafts.
Step 2: Give it something specific. A character with a want, a place, and a problem beat a vague topic. Ask for an outline first if you want control over the plot, or for the full draft if you want to be surprised.
Step 3: Steer it chapter by chapter. Ask for the next scene, change what you do not like, and keep going. When a reply writes a longer document, it opens in a side panel and can be downloaded as a .docx file. For a recurring character, the character editor lets you save a reusable profile with a name, appearance and persona.
Sample prompts you can paste
Prompt: “Write a gentle five-minute bedtime story about a lighthouse keeper’s cat who is afraid of the dark. End with everyone safe and sleepy.”
Prompt: “Give me five one-sentence premises for a short mystery set in a small mountain town. Make each one turn on a different kind of secret.”
Prompt: “Outline a 2,000-word story in four scenes about two estranged sisters who inherit a bakery. Show the turning point in scene three.”
Prompt: “Here is my opening paragraph: [paste]. Continue the scene for about 400 words in the same voice and tense.”
Prompt: “Retell this scene from the antagonist’s point of view, so the reader understands what they want: [paste scene].”
Tips for better stories
Specific beats general. Name the reader’s age, the tone you want (cosy, tense, funny, bittersweet), and one concrete detail that should appear. If a draft feels flat, ask for a stronger want for the main character or a sharper obstacle, rather than “make it better.”
For long projects, keep a running summary and paste it into a new chat when the old one gets long. Projects keep related chats, files and instructions together, so one book or series can live in one place. Correct a contradiction plainly in your next message; the model follows the latest clear instruction.
Your stories stay with you
Unfinished drafts are personal. nokeep saves your chats in this browser rather than in an account, and nokeep does not use your chats to train models. To write each reply, your message and the relevant context are sent for hosted processing; the privacy policy explains what is handled.
Chats do not sync to another device automatically. Export a chat as a Markdown file, download a document, or make a backup before clearing browser data.
