What is the most private AI chat?
An offline model running on your own device gives you the most direct control over where a chat goes. For hosted AI, compare account requirements, server history, provider retention, and training separately. No sign-up alone does not make a service private.

Four questions to ask before choosing
Does it require an account for the features you need? Guest access reduces the information you have to provide, but the service still receives network requests. An account is one privacy consideration, not the whole picture.
Where is your saved history? Browser storage and cloud storage have different tradeoffs. Local history stays on the device and can be lost when you clear browser data; cloud history can follow you between devices.
What does the inference provider retain? A chat app may send your messages to another company to generate an answer. Check that provider as well as the app. A no-training policy does not necessarily mean no retention.
What controls can you verify? Review the privacy policy, available settings, deletion behavior, and any published technical evidence. Seeing a chat only in your browser cannot prove that no server copy exists.
Can ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot be used without signing in?
Yes, with availability and feature limits. OpenAI offers logged-out ChatGPT in supported regions. Google allows some Gemini features without signing in on some devices. Consumer Microsoft Copilot also has guest access; signing in unlocks additional features.
Guest access, saved history, and training are separate controls. OpenAI says logged-out chats can be used for training by default and provides a browser-specific opt-out. Temporary Chat has different rules: it is not used for training, and a copy may be retained for up to 30 days for safety. Check the current policy for the exact product and mode you use.
Is uncensored AI more private?
Privacy and censorship describe different things. Privacy concerns who receives and retains your information. Uncensored usually describes how a model responds to sensitive or creative prompts. A filtered assistant can protect privacy, and an uncensored assistant can still store every message.
nokeep offers both local chat history and no added refusals. Model behavior and limits still vary. Judge its privacy by the storage and provider terms, not by whether it answers a particular prompt.
How nokeep handles private chat
nokeep needs no account. Saved chats, memory, and generated media live in your browser. Prompts and the context needed for an answer pass through nokeep to the inference provider; nokeep does not keep a server copy of chat history. Model requests are processed under no-retention agreements.
Browser storage is persistent: closing a tab does not erase it. End now removes the local chats and gallery. Exported files, backups, and screenshots are separate copies you control.
The service still needs operational data such as usage and payment records. Your network can see that you connect to nokeep.ai, and a card processor handles your payment details. No account does not mean no observable activity.
When an offline model is the better choice
If keeping prompt content off remote machines is your main requirement, use a model configured to run offline on hardware you control. Check that its tools, telemetry, and integrations are also offline. Hardware needs and answer quality depend on the model and task.

Is any hosted AI chat completely offline?
No. A hosted model receives the prompt and relevant context to generate its answer. Local saved history describes storage, not where inference happens.
Does incognito mode make an AI chat private?
It limits what browsing data persists on the device after the session. It does not change the AI service’s retention or training policy.
Does uncensored mean private?
No. Response restrictions and data handling are separate. Check accounts, retention, training, and storage even when a service calls itself uncensored.
Do nokeep chats disappear when I close the tab?
No. Saved chats remain in your browser until you delete them or clear its storage. End now removes the local chats and gallery; exports and backups must be managed separately.
