What changes when you switch?

What privacy controls does ChatGPT offer?

OpenAI offers ChatGPT without an account in supported regions, with a reduced set of features. Its help page says logged-out chats are used for training by default, with an opt-out that applies to the browser you use.

Temporary Chat does not appear in chat history or train the models. OpenAI says a copy may be kept for up to 30 days for safety. These controls matter: guest access, training opt-outs, and retention each answer a different privacy question.

What stays on your device in nokeep?

Chats, projects, generated media, and memory live in your browser. You can inspect, edit, and erase saved memory. When memory is used, the relevant context is included in a model request; it is not stored as a profile on nokeep’s servers.

This means you do not get automatic chat-history sync between devices. Clearing browser data can remove your workspace. Closing a tab keeps local data; End now erases chats and gallery items. Any files you exported or backed up remain separate.

Private and uncensored describe different features

Chat on nokeep has no refusal layer of ours on top of its models. That can suit frank discussion and creative work, but individual models still have limits and can refuse or make mistakes. Illegal content is always blocked.

An answer being unrestricted tells you nothing about how it is stored. Compare privacy policies independently of model behavior, and try both products on your own tasks before deciding which suits you.

What to check in any alternative

Check whether the features you want require an account, where saved history lives, what the model provider retains, and whether training controls apply to your plan. Read the current terms instead of assuming every product from the same company works alike.
