What does an uncensored AI chatbot answer, and what does it refuse?

What does “uncensored” mean for a chatbot?

A mainstream chatbot refuses for two reasons that look the same from the outside. The first is a policy layer: rules the company wrote, applied to your message and to the model’s reply, that block topics the company would rather not be associated with. The second is the model itself, which was trained to be cautious and hedges or declines on its own. When a chatbot lectures you about a fictional scene, a medical question or a legal grey area, you usually cannot tell which of the two you hit.

An uncensored chatbot removes the first. nokeep adds no refusal layer of its own to chat: your message goes to the model as you wrote it, and the reply comes back as the model wrote it. The chat model offered in nokeep is tuned to be less cautious than a mainstream assistant. What nokeep cannot do is remove the second reason. Every model has tendencies from its training, and a model that declines mid-conversation is behaving like a model, not like a filter.

The word covers a wide range of intent. Some people searching for one want frank answers about drugs, security, medicine or law without a disclaimer. Some want fiction and roleplay that does not break off mid-scene. Some want a model that will argue a position instead of both-sidesing it. nokeep serves all three with the same composer and the same policy: no refusal layer of ours in chat, and the model’s own judgement left intact. Images and video have their own checks, and illegal content is always blocked.

What still gets refused, and why?

The law and nokeep’s terms first. nokeep is for adults, and using it to break the law where you live, to violate other people’s rights, or to harm people or systems is prohibited, and those requests are blocked. Open-ended is not lawless; the terms say so in those words. Content sexualising minors or real people is forbidden here without exception.

The model second. Models differ in how far they will go, and the same model can differ between two turns. Customers of rival services describe a model that “develops a conscience” in the middle of a scene; that is training showing through, and it happens on nokeep too. The remedy is a different model, a clearer brief, or a restated instruction, not a support ticket. nokeep does not promise that any model will answer any request, because no honest service can.

The provider third. Models run on hosted infrastructure under zero-data-retention commitments, and that infrastructure has operating limits, occasional slowdowns and, rarely, outages. A message that fails at the provider is not a refusal and is not billed.

How does uncensored chat work on nokeep?

Open nokeep and type. There is no sign-up, no email and no card for the free allowance. The composer lets you choose a model per chat; the roster spans a fast, cheap default for everyday use, larger models for long or careful work, and models with less built-in caution for fiction and frank conversation. nokeep does not name engines on its pages, because rosters change and a name on a page becomes a stale promise. The current models are listed in the app.

Roleplay can start from a saved character or a brief in the first message. Open Characters to pick one or make your own from a line; each has a portrait and a voice of their own. Your character collection stays in this browser; there is no public marketplace or community feed. Memory across chats, when you turn it on, is kept on your device and travels with the request only when relevant.

Chats persist on your device. Close the tab and come back and the conversation is where you left it, in your browser’s storage rather than on a server. Temporary chats are the exception: they exclude saved memory and project context and are not kept as history, for a conversation you want to leave no local trace of. End now wipes the device’s copy of everything when you are done on a shared machine.

What does the uncensored chatbot cost?

Ten messages a day are free, with no account and no card. Free messages run on the cheaper models with a shorter cap on reply length, which is enough to judge whether the chatbot suits you. When the ten are used, the composer says so and quotes the alternatives.

Plans start at fifteen dollars a month and include unlimited chat on the models offered in the app, never metered, plus a credit balance for images, edits and video. Unlimited chat is a claim nokeep can make honestly because a message costs a fraction of a cent to a few cents in compute, and a plan carries it. Rival services have sold “unlimited” chat that customers found applied only to the basic models, with everything else drawn from a small monthly allotment; on nokeep the plan covers the chat models offered in the app.

If you would rather not subscribe, credits pay for chat by the tokens actually used, at one markup on the provider’s cost, so a short exchange on the default model costs well under a cent and a long session on a large model costs a few. Credits start at $5 and never expire. A message that fails is not billed.

How private is it?

Uncensored and private are separate promises. On nokeep, conversations are saved in your browser; nokeep keeps no server-side chat archive and does not train on your messages. Each message is processed in memory and passed to hosted inference providers under zero-data-retention commitments, without your IP address or browser-identifying headers. Operational metadata such as model names, token counts and billing records exists separately from content, as the privacy policy describes.

Read the edges. The provider processes your message to answer it, under contract rather than under encryption you hold; nokeep does not currently offer end-to-end encrypted or hardware-attested inference and does not claim to. On your side, anyone with your unlocked browser profile can read your chats, so a shared machine calls for End now or a private window. Exports and screenshots are copies nothing on nokeep can erase.

What are the honest limits?

Frankness is not accuracy. A chatbot that answers a medical or legal question without a disclaimer can still answer it wrong, and the absence of hedging makes a wrong answer sound more certain, not less. Verify anything that matters against a real source or a real professional. The terms say model output is not advice, and they mean it.

Long roleplay tests every model’s memory. Context windows are large but finite, characters drift over many turns, and a model can lose an instruction from the opening brief. Restate what matters, keep briefs short and specific, and expect to steer. There is no cloud sync: chats on your phone and chats on your laptop are different chats unless you export and import.

Refusals happen, and nokeep will not tell you otherwise. What it will tell you is that they are the model’s, not nokeep’s, and that switching models is one click. That is the useful difference between nokeep and a filtered chatbot: when a filtered one says no, you are done; when a model on nokeep says no, you have options.
