What makes a series different from a string of clips?
Three things: the same people, a story that moves forward, and episodes that know about each other. Clips made one at a time get none of these for free. A face is redrawn from scratch each time, and the fourth clip has no idea what happened in the third.
A series generator has to hold all of that between episodes, the way a writers’ room keeps notes on who is who and what has already happened. That is what Studio’s series mode does.
How do you make an AI series in nokeep Studio?
Step 1: Pick Series and write the show in a line, along with where episode 1 starts: “a robot waitress runs the only diner on the moon,” or “two rival lighthouse keepers on neighbouring rocks.” Set how many episodes and how long each one is.
Step 2: Read the season plan. Studio writes a name and a line for every episode first, so you can see where the show goes. Reorder episodes, rename them, add one or change what happens, by hand or by asking the Director.
Step 3: Make the episodes one at a time. Each is written, cast, drawn and filmed like a film, and you see its price before it films. After each episode, Studio catches up on what happened, so the next one picks up from there.
How does the cast stay the same?
Episode 1 brings the cast in. Each character gets one picture in the show’s look, along with who they are and how they sound, and that same picture is used in every episode they appear in.
Characters live in your library, so you can also start a series with people you have already made, or with the ready-made cast.
Can a film become the first episode?
Yes. If a short film turns out to be the start of something, keep it as episode 1 and Studio plans a show around it, with the same cast and look.
What a series costs
Studio comes with every nokeep plan, or you pay per film with credits. A series is priced one episode at a time: each episode’s pictures and filming are priced from its script when you write it, and that price is the most you are charged. You never pay for a whole season up front.
Credits never expire and are not refundable once bought. On a plan, the writing is included.
Where is the series kept?
On your device. The show and every episode are saved in this browser rather than in an account, and our server keeps an episode only while it is being made or changed, then deletes it within the hour. Download each episode to keep a copy anywhere else.
