The free test key

sk-nokeep-test is a public key anyone can use. It checks your request the way a real key does, then answers with one fixed line instead of the model, for free.

Checked 26 October 2026

What it does

  • Takes every model id, streamed or not, exactly like a real key.
  • Checks the request the same way: a wrong model id, a bad role or too many pictures get the same error a real key gets.
  • Answers with one line that names the model, what the messages would cost with a 250-token reply, and any fields that model wouldn’t take.
  • Never reaches a model, never charges, and writes nothing to a call log.

Try it here, free

This sends a real request to the API with the test key. It answers one fixed line and costs nothing.

Use it

Put it wherever a key goes: an environment variable, an SDK, or an app’s key field.

export NOKEEP_API_KEY="sk-nokeep-test"

The reply comes back as a normal chat completion, with usage.nokeep_credits at 0 and the header x-nokeep-test: 1.

Limits

20 requests a minute from one address. Past that it answers 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header.

When your setup connects, swap in your own key from the console. Nothing else changes: the base URL stays https://nokeep.ai/v1.

Questions

Does the test key ever reach a model?

No. It answers from our server with a fixed line, so it can’t show you the model’s writing. It shows that your setup, the model id and your fields are right.

Why is it public?

Because it costs nothing to run and answers nothing private. It lets anyone check an app connects before buying credits.
