Hard limits
The models answer what they’re asked. The one refusal is ours: a short list of hard limits, written in the terms, the same as the app’s.
Checked 26 October 2026
What happens
- A request that crosses a hard limit stops before it reaches the model, with
422 hard_limit. - It costs nothing.
- It is an error with a code, never a softer or shorter answer passed off as the model’s.
The list is in the terms. Every key’s maker confirms they are 18 or older and will use the API within them.
After a 422
Drop the message that was refused from the history you send next. Left in, it is read again as context and the next call can stop too.
