A Gemini alternative that is not tied to your Google account
Gemini is attached to the Google account that already holds your mail, calendar, photos and location history — so every conversation joins the most complete profile anyone has of you. nokeep has no account to attach anything to.
This is a different objection from the usual privacy complaint. The issue is not only that Gemini stores conversations; it is which identity they are stored against.
Why the account matters more here
A standalone assistant knows what you told it. An assistant inside your primary identity provider knows that plus everything else that identity touches, and the combination is worth far more than either half.
Human review of sampled conversations is disclosed, activity is retained by default with controls to shorten it, and the same account is the one you use for work, banking recovery and everything else.
Gemini also applies Google’s content policies, so the refusals arrive with the same shape as everywhere else.
The alternative
nokeep asks for nothing: no account, no email, no profile to join anything to. Conversations live in the tab and are gone when it closes, and no moderation layer is added on top of the engine.
The honest cost: Gemini’s integration with your own documents and mail is genuinely useful, and nokeep has none of it. If that integration is why you use it, this is not a substitute.

Can I use Gemini without a Google account?
Not meaningfully. It is an account-first product, which is the point of the objection rather than an oversight.
Does deleting Gemini activity remove it?
It removes it from your activity view and stops it being used going forward. Copies retained for safety review can persist beyond that on their own schedule.
Is nokeep run by a large company?
No, and that cuts both ways: no ecosystem and no integrations, but also no adjacent profile for a conversation to be filed against.
