Is it safe to share personal information with AI?
Share only the personal information needed for the task, after checking how the service handles it. A private-chat label, a training opt-out, or an incognito browser window is not a guarantee that sensitive content never reaches a provider.

Make the question useful without making it identifying
For a draft complaint, replace names, account numbers, addresses, and exact dates with placeholders. For a document summary, provide only the relevant passage when the full file is unnecessary. Keep the mapping from placeholders to real people outside the chat.
Changing a name is not complete anonymization. A unique event, job title, location, or combination of details can still identify someone. Review what the whole prompt reveals.
Inspect the route your data will take
Check saved history, model-provider processing, training use, and retention separately. Attachments and connected search or document tools can introduce additional recipients. Workplace or client data should follow the organization’s approved process.
Do not paste passwords, private keys, recovery codes, or full payment credentials into a conversation. The assistant does not need those secrets to explain how to perform an ordinary account-management task.
What nokeep changes
nokeep needs no account for the free tier and saves conversations in the browser instead of a server-side history archive. It still uses hosted inference. Read the privacy page before deciding whether a particular document belongs in the chat.
Also protect the device: someone with access to the browser profile may be able to read its saved conversations. Exports, screenshots, clipboard history, and shared files create copies outside the app’s deletion controls.

Can I share a client document?
Use the service and process approved for that client and organization. Remove unnecessary information and check contractual requirements before uploading.
Does private browsing hide my prompt from the AI provider?
No. It mainly changes local browser storage behavior. A hosted service still receives the request needed to answer.
